Qala stands for art in Hindi, it's a 2022 Indian Hindi-language psychological drama /musical /thriller film. The movie is set in the 1940s , it displays the relationship between an aspiring singer and her browbeat mother . The title of the movie beautifully represents how there was gender biasness in the industry at that time period by using the female symbol in place of the letter Q in Qala .

A movie directed by Anvita Dutta is artistic with extraordinary visuals illustrating psychological themes. The movie's timeline is of the 1940s where it shows the relationship between a young singer well known in the film industry and her mother . The storyline is so powerful and almost nearly collapsing to reality which is very beautiful and heartbreaking . Film blends together the present and how Qala (role played by) Tripti Dimri achieves success in her career , the never ending pursuit of music (singing) ,it's impairing effect of seeking approval from her mother and how the decisions made in past haunts her till the very end even after achieving everything she ever dreamt of . The songs in the movie(Qala) are absolutely honey to ears composed by Amrit Trivedi they never disrupt the storyline, instead they add emphasis and put more emotions into the storyline and understanding of the characters . Together with the cinematographer Siddharth divan and production designer Meenal agraval she carefully paints the distorted inner world of Qala . The combination of complementing colors dark and dull interior (qala's childhood home)with the cold exterior subtle tints and grandiose glow add to the visual complexity and depth of the film ,this demonstrates the psychological factors of the film.

Qala is more than just a film, it has done both the educational and the entertainment part very beautifully and filled with creativity.
